Strategic Plan Development for Pastoralist Women For Health and Education ( PWHE)

a group of pastoralist women walking together with determination across an African semi-arid landscape

Executive Summary

The Pastoralist Women for Health and Education (PWHE) project is an ongoing, community-led initiative dedicated to empowering women and girls in nomadic and pastoralist communities. Recognizing that these populations face unique barriers to basic services due to mobility, climate change, and deeply entrenched cultural norms, PWHE implements mobile, adaptive, and culturally integrated solutions. By intersecting health services with educational access, the project builds long-term community resilience and fosters gender equity.
